The American Meme

This work explores the growing discrepancy between the naïve ideology and the bleak reality of the “American Dream” in present day.
Drawing upon the influences of Robert Frank and Arthur Miller, I reveal new tensions derived from both constructed and discovered dialogues.

I have always been fascinated by the ephemeral nature of what Cartier-Bresson described as the decisive moment - how quickly
reality erodes our fleeting sense of triumph, ultimately leading us to the dawn of a new understanding.

As our ideologies become distorted by daily practices, we are left with nothing more than a tribute to an American dream that once was.
Instead, we find ourselves as mere heirs to the illusion that is, “The American Meme.”
